Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell)

COEP Tech’s Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) is a student-led initiative supported by the institute and guided by experienced faculty mentors. The cell is dedicated to cultivating a robust culture of entrepreneurship and innovation among students. Through the organization of diverse and engaging programs, the E-Cell actively encourages interest in start-ups and entrepreneurial pursuits.

Serving as the supporting pre-incubation center of COEP Technological University, the E-Cell offers structured mentoring and support to students with innovative ideas. It assists them across all stages of venture development, including ideation, innovation, proof of concept, business model formulation, prototyping, and design. In accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, the E-Cell conducts a wide range of innovation- and entrepreneurship-focused activities under the guidance of industry experts, alumni, the Director of COEP, patent attorneys, and professionals from leading incubators.

We strive to promote entrepreneurship through a self-sustaining, scalable, and impactful ecosystem, committed to building a world-class institute that empowers innovation, leadership, and inclusive growth.

Our mission is to empower students to explore entrepreneurship through early-stage exposure, structured learning pathways, and guided mentorship. We support the transformation of ideas into clearly defined problem statements, validated concepts, and execution-ready projects. By fostering entrepreneurial thinking, practical skill development, and access to a strong innovation ecosystem, we enable students across disciplines to take confident and informed steps toward startups, innovation, and future leadership.

What We Do?

Driving Campus Entrepreneurship
The E-Cell functions as a strategic launchpad for aspiring entrepreneurs by enabling students to ideate, validate, and execute innovative solutions to real-world challenges. Through carefully curated initiatives, the Cell bridges the gap between academic learning and hands-on entrepreneurial practice, fostering a culture of innovation, problem-solving, and venture creation on campus.

High-Impact Events & Competitions

Each academic year, the E-Cell conducts 5+ flagship initiatives, led by Pune StartUp Fest—its annual entrepreneurial conclave featuring startup expos, keynote sessions, competitions, and networking and the E-Cell Meetup, which promotes collaboration and knowledge exchange among institutions nationwide. Alongside these, the E-Cell organizes business plan competitions, finance challenges, advertising and marketing contests, and expert-led sessions, collectively engaging 500+ students annually and building essential skills in business strategy, finance, marketing, teamwork, leadership, and real-world decision-making

Skill Development & Expert Engagement

Through more expert-led sessions, workshops, and masterclasses, students gain structured exposure to core entrepreneurial domains, including startups and venture creation, finance, digital marketing, intellectual property rights, research and publications, product development, and pitching skills. These sessions are delivered by experienced industry professionals, accomplished entrepreneurs, content creators, and distinguished COEP alumni, providing practical insights and real-world perspectives.

Startup & Innovation Support

The E-Cell nurtures early-stage student innovators by offering structured mentorship, idea validation platforms, pitch opportunities, and strategic guidance to transform concepts into scalable and sustainable ventures. High-potential ideas are actively encouraged and supported in progressing toward advanced incubation programs and broader entrepreneurial ecosystem engagement.

Industry, Alumni & Ecosystem Connect

Through strategic collaboration with industry experts, startup founders, alumni entrepreneurs, and platforms such as Pune Startup Fest, the E-Cell reinforces industry–academia linkages while providing students with meaningful, real-world exposure to entrepreneurial ecosystems.

Inter-College Collaboration & Networking

The E-Cell actively fosters a collaborative entrepreneurial ecosystem by organizing inter-collegiate E-Cell meetups and networking forums that bring together student innovators from institutions across India. These platforms enable the exchange of best practices, ideas, and opportunities, strengthening peer learning and cross-institutional collaboration.
