Established in 1948, the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at COEP Technological University, Pune, stands as a pioneering center for metallurgical and materials education in western Maharashtra. The department offers the following academic programs:

• B.Tech. in Metallurgy and Materials Technology
  This undergraduate program provides a comprehensive foundation in metallurgical and materials engineering principles and practices. The annual intake is 75 students, with an additional 10% admitted through lateral entry in the second year.
• M.Tech. in Materials Engineering and M.Tech. in Material Process Technology
  These postgraduate programs focus on specialized coursework followed by a year-long thesis project. Each M.Tech. specialization has an intake capacity of 18 students.
• Ph.D. in Engineering
  The department offers Ph.D. opportunities for both full-time scholars and working professionals, fostering research excellence across various domains of metallurgical and materials engineering.
