    • COEP Technological University’s Third Year B.Plan students (2025–2026) secured the First Runner-Up position in “The LAP Initiative” Competition held on 19 February 2026, organized by MIT ADT University, Pune. The competition focused on addressing real-world urban planning challenges through innovative and community-responsive solutions.

    • PG thesis  of student Mr. Suraj Ubale entitled “Analysing the Accessibility of Pune Metro Stations Using a Composite Accessibility Index: A Study of Ramwadi to Vanaz Corridor (Aqua Line)” under the guidance of Dr. Arati S. Petkar received the Late P. N. Mujumdar Prize for Best Project (M.Tech Planning) in November 2025.

    • Best Paper Award based on PG thesis entitled “Land Suitability Analysis for Town Planning Scheme: A Case of Kolhapur”, authored by Rengde Juyee and Petkar A. S., presented at the Joint International Conference on Innovative Engineering Technologies (CIET-2025) organized by KITCOE Kolhapur (India), Ningxia University (China), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China), and AGH University (Poland) on 11–12 September 2025.

    2023

    • Aishwarya Tupe, a PG student of the department, received the Best Thesis Award 2023 from the Institute of Town Planners India (ITPI), Maharashtra Regional Chapter, Nagpur, in September 2023.

    • At the 24th Annual NOSPlan Convention 2023, hosted by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab (16–18 February 2023), COEP students secured: 1st Prize – Box Cricket, 2nd Prize – Football, 2nd Place – Gaming Trophy

    • The event “Utopia” conducted under MindSpark 2023 was won by COEP students Tanika Shinde, Pruthviraj Parade Patil, Nayan Shinde, and Neha Chavan.

    • The event “ID Civil, Architecture and Planning” conducted under MindSpark (13–14 January 2023) saw COEP student Ketan Tawale win the 1st Prize.

    2022

    • PG thesis of Shivani Bhandari entitled “Crime Prevention Through City Planning: Case Study of Pune City”, under the guidance of Dr. Arati S. Petkar, received the Second Prize – Best Thesis Award 2022 by the Institute of Town Planners India (ITPI), Maharashtra Regional Chapter (Nagpur).

    • UG thesis of Rudrasen Shorey entitled “Optimizing Urban Water Supply System Using WaterGEMS”, under the guidance of Dr. Arati S. Petkar, received the Late Mr. M. B. Gharpuray Prize for Innovative Project by Civil Engineering students in June 2022.

    • Mission Amrut Sarovar Jal Dharohar Samrakshan Internship (MoHUA)
      First- and second-year M.Plan students studied Katraj and Pashan Lakes in Pune and proposed rejuvenation strategies.

      • Katraj Lake team, mentored by Prof. P. M. Raval, was selected as a winning team among 250 teams across India.

      • Pashan Lake team, mentored by Dr. Isha P. Panse, was among the top 100 shortlisted teams.

    2021–2022

    • Participation in “Smart Cities and Academia towards Action & Research (SAAR)”, a collaborative initiative between the Smart Cities Mission and the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), Government of India. Dr. Arati S. Petkar acted as Principal Investigator for the project.
