Some journeys come full circle, inspiring generations along the way.
COEP Technological University Pune, was delighted to welcome Hon’ble Shr. Laxman Narasimhan, distinguished alumnus and globally renowned business leader, back to his alma mater. With an illustrious career spanning leadership roles at PepsiCo, Reckitt and Starbucks, his journey continues to inspire aspiring engineers and future leaders.
The interactions were held in the presence of Shri Vinayak Pai, Chairman of Board of Governance, COEP Tech; Prof. Sunil Bhirud, Vice-Chancellor; Shri. Bharat Gite, President, Alumni Association; Shri. Amit Paranjape, Member of Board of Governance , Shri Ranjit Date former CEO of Wipro PARI; Dr. D. N. Sonawane, Registrar; Dr. Parag A. Sadgir, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Sandeep A. Meshram, Dr. Kiran V. Dalvi , Dr. N. K. Chougule , Dr. B. M. Dawari.
Dr. Prashant P. Bartakke, Associate Dean, presented an overview of COEP Tech’s rich legacy and current activities. Dr. S. P. Mahajan, Director, RIIL, highlighted the university’s ongoing research and innovation initiatives, while Shri. Vivek Pawar, CTO, shared insights into its ongoing transformation and future vision. Dr. Avinash Joshi, Officer on Special Duty, presented the vision for the Chikhali Research and Innovation Park, highlighting its potential to provide students with opportunities for hands-on learning, research and industry engagement.
During his visit, Shr. Narasimhan explored the Engineering Exploration Laboratory at the Academic Complex, where he interacted with students and conducted an engaging session on product design, sharing valuable insights into the design process and its practical applications. At the KPIT APEX Lab, he discussed student projects in detail, encouraging innovation and the application of engineering knowledge to real-world challenges.
His visit to the Department of Mechanical Engineering brought back nostalgic memories of his time at COEP, offering a special opportunity to reconnect with his alma mater and reflect on his journey from campus to global leadership.
