On the occasion of National Technology Day, COEP Technological University, in association with Vijnana Bharati (Paschim Maharashtra), organized a Startup Meet & Interaction bringing together Directors of leading research laboratories, Vice-Chancellors, and senior industry professionals.
The event served as a dynamic platform for interaction between academia, research institutions, and industry leaders-fostering collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange.
The session was enriched by the address of Dr. S. Somanath, Former Chairman of ISRO, who shared key insights on strengthening India’s research and innovation ecosystem.
He emphasized:
• The importance of creating new knowledge and translating it into impactful, real-world products
• The need for industry-sponsored PhD fellowships to support and empower young research scholars
• The establishment of industry-led laboratories in focused and emerging domains
• The importance of building strong structures for indigenous technology development
• The critical role of collaboration between industry, academia, and research institutions
• Encouraging researchers to identify social problems and develop scalable solutions, along with continuous monitoring
He also highlighted how National Education Policy 2020 is playing a significant role in promoting interdisciplinary learning and strengthening the research ecosystem
The interaction reflected a shared commitment towards building an innovation-driven and self-reliant India.
