Profile
I am a dedicated educator, researcher, and leader with 29 years of teaching and 8 years of research experience, seamlessly integrating Engineering and Chemistry to drive innovation in teaching, research, and student development. Passionate about mentorship, curriculum development, and interdisciplinary collaboration, I strive to create a dynamic learning environment that fosters growth for both students and faculty.
I have served as Head of the Applied Sciences and Humanities Department for five years (2018-2023), Established and Coordinated the functioning of the MBA Department for three years (2020-2023), and founded the COEP Wellness Centre, spearheading impactful programs for student well-being. My commitment to teaching excellence earned me the COEP STAR AWARD for Best Teacher (2013). I have contributed significantly to curriculum development, serving as a Coordinator for AICTE’s Model Curriculum ‘Student Induction Programme’ and playing a key role in developing the Engineering Chemistry syllabus under NEP 2020.
Beyond academics, I am deeply committed to student engagement and holistic development. I conceptualized and launched ‘Impressions’ (2016), COEP’s flagship cultural festival, and served as Faculty Advisor until 2019. This initiative helped students hone creativity and leadership while engaging with luminaries. I also organized the “Student Excellence and Learning Program” by Art of Living and DEEP C TALKS by CXOs, connecting students with industry leaders for professional insights.I have been an integral part of the Organizing Committee for three National Conferences organized in COEP.I have organized FDPs, Workshops, STTPS for Faculty members.
My research focuses on conducting polymer-metal oxide nanocomposites for water remediation. I have I have 7 research publications and 2 patents. I was awarded First Prize at the National Conference “We Meet” (2010) for my paper on challenges faced by women in doctoral studies. I was also a university rank holder and recipient of the Mumbai merit scholarship (1992-1994).
With 12 years as a Faculty Advisor for Cultural Activities, I firmly believe in fostering creativity, leadership, and experiential learning. My journey continues with a commitment to inspiring students, advancing research, and shaping the future of education
