Short Bio
Dr. Amruta Amey Kakirde(PhD) is an accomplished urban planner based in Pune, India. She is a proud CEPT alumnus and associate member of the Institute of Town Planners India (ITPI) and a member of the Council of Architecture (COA). With 14 years of experience in government , semi-government organizations, private organizations and an academic institutions, she gained diverse and in-depth exposure to real-world urban challenges.She is a passionate advocate for walkable, inclusive, and sustainable urban environments and has guided numerous students and young professionals through career counselling and research supervision. Dr. Kakirde has authored and co‑authored several research papers in scholarly journals and presented her research at national and international conferences, reflecting her commitment to evidence-based planning and academic rigor.she is actively engaging urban planning studios and teaches various courses to B.Plan. as well as M.Plan. students. Alongside teaching and research, she continues to explore emerging trends in urban Planning, supporting initiatives that make cities more livable and future-ready.
